MEXICO CITY, December 17, 2020. Guillermo Castellá Lorenzo, director and representative for Mexico and Central America to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Bernd Rohde, CEO of Hannover Fairs México, the company that organizes Industrial Transformation México (ITM), today signed a Letter of Intent to jointly promote Industry 4.0 and maximize its benefits in Latin America.
The agreement states that UNIDO will make a significant contribution to the conference programs and panels of the 2021 and 2022 editions of Industrial Transformation México, the Hannover Messe of Mexico and Latin America, and will play a strategic role in the creation of contents for the event’s various audiences.
“ITM is the ideal platform at which to reflect on the challenges, implications and opportunities Industry 4.0 poses to the economies of Latin America, and how the region can achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. We aim to build on and consolidate the achievements of 2019 and 2020, reason why our Letter of Intent is not limited to 2021, but has its sights set on the future and will extend to 2022,” said Castellá.
“Having UNIDO as a strategic partner is a great privilege,” said Bernd Rohde, adding that “as occurred in 2019 and 2020, I am confident the 2021 edition of the event will be an unparalleled source of Industry 4.0 know-how and best practices that, with the collaboration of the United Nations, will enable us to share the latest in international trends with ITM audiences and broaden the horizons of the industrial sector in Mexico and Latin America.”
A prime example of the kind of joint initiatives taken by HFM and UNIDO is the co-publication of Industrial Transformation Mexico 2019: The Industry 4.0 Platform in Mexico, which was presented at a virtual press conference on September 23, 2020.
The 2021 edition of Industrial Transformation México will be held on October 6-8 at the Poliforum León in Guanajuato and will take a hybrid format.
