GOVERNMENT OF GUANAJUATO AND HANNOVER FAIRS MÉXICO ANNOUNCE ITM 2021 ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS OF EUROPEAN TOUR

León, GTO, September 17, 2021. The program of activities for the third edition of Industrial Transformation México (ITM), the Hannover Messe of Mexico and Latin America, and the results of the Guanajuato government’s investment tour of Europe were today announced at a press conference attended by the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo; Hannover Fairs México CEO Bernd Rohde; the Municipal President of León, Héctor López Santillana; the Minister of Sustainable Economic Development for Guanajuato, Mauricio Usabiaga Díaz; Mitsubishi Electric Business Manager Juan Carlos Valerio Rodríguez; SAP Senior Vice-president Ricardo Trevizo; Director of Government Relations at Schneider Electric, Daniel Cruz; Poliforum León CEO Alejandro Gutiérrez de Velasco; and the General Coordinator of Social Communications for the State of Guanajuato, Alan Márquez.

According to Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, “We are on our way to becoming the epicenter of Industry 4.0 in Mexico and Latin America and to help us achieve this is our partnership with Deutsche Messe. On our recent working tour of Europe, we visited Hannover―the birthplace of technological innovations that have revolutionized the world―to unveil a plaque commemorating the twinning of the Poliforum León and Hannover fairgrounds.”

As regards the results of the tour, the Governor said that during visits to Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland, “we held meetings with companies like Nestlé, Proma, Assolombarda, Pirelli, Ferrero, ITT, Safran, Michelin, Le Bélier and ZKW, and managed to secure investments totaling $US466 million, as well as 5,556 new jobs, both direct and indirect, which puts us practically halfway to meeting the goals set at the beginning of my term in office.”

“ITM,” said Héctor López Santillana, “has enabled us to learn about, understand and acquire technology. This partnership has benefited the government and especially companies, as Concamin, Poliforum and ITM industrialists can confirm, because the country’s most important meeting of industrialists is to be held in León, Guanajuato for the third year running.”

This is also the third year in a row Guanajuato will be hosting Industrial Transformation México, which will take a hybrid format this year. “We are expecting a turnout of 21,000 visitors on both our digital platform and in person at Poliforum León, and will focusing on using this edition to promote mindfacturing and innovation globally,” said Bernd Rohde.

“The Mitsubushi Electric Group is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year and those of us who have had the good fortunate to belong to this great family have helped improve the wellbeing of society by developing technologies that allow companies to produce goods and provide services more efficiently and sustainably,” added Juan Carlos Valerio Rodríguez.

“The digitalization of Mexican industry,” said Ricardo Trevizo, “is a priority if we are to make firm tracks in bringing about the country’s economic recovery. Today more than ever, Industrial Transformation México, promoted by the state government of Guanajuato, plays a key role in helping more Mexican companies capitalize on the opportunities offered by the digital economy in global value chains.”

Daniel Cruz concluded by saying that, “At Schenider Electric, we understand the needs and challenges Industry 4.0 poses, but we can also see its enormous value in the form of more efficient processes, increased productivity and competitiveness, and, subsequently, greater social  and economic development.”

The third edition of Industrial Transformation México will take place on October 6-8 at Poliforum León, Guanajuato, where 21,000 visitors are expected to attend both the virtual and in-person editions of the event, which will feature six exhibition areas, a program of more than 70 conferences and a side program featuring activities like IEC4.0 Innovation and Training Week, the Pacific Alliance Sustainable Development Summit, the Futuristic Minds educational program, the Circular Future Makeathon, the Dual Education Summit and a Startup Pitch.
